CIC allows me to slow down to savour God’s Word and its accompanying application for a particular stage in my spiritual journey … Really thankful I was introduced to this spiritual formation group where I learnt to develop heart knowledge in addition to head knowledge.

I’m so grateful for the chance to embark on this 28-week journey. It has been a time of looking back at the faithfulness of God in my life over the last 40 years, learning about where I am presently, who the Lord has made me to be and how I can learn and interact with Him in a deeper and more profound way. I have also learnt the true value of a Christian community, stripped of outward commonalities, united by an acknowledgement of brokenness and a true dependence, love and hunger for our God. I was truly amazed by the commitment and desire of my fellow attendees to faithfully attend all the sessions and to complete all the coursework. It was an unusual case of people doing what was expected, not because it would be inspected but because it was eagerly anticipated. I, too, felt a palpable sense of excitement that I would encounter my Lord in a fresh way each time I opened my course material. How special indeed! While 28 weeks seems like a long time, the CIC course merely provides a taster as to the richness of life in Christ. It has equipped me with new tools, approaches and insights to daily disciplines. Personally, it has convicted me to be more Mary than Martha in my relationship with Him. As I grow in my relationship with Jesus, my prayer is that I will live in loving service to God in the world according to the way He has created me to be.

This is my third year with CIC.  For me, each run of CIC is a small community of believers coming together to share the spiritual journey.  In their company, I learn to listen to what God is doing in each one’s lives and to share my own journey.  Together, we contribute to supporting God’s work in each other’s life. Through this, I have learned many ways and paths to grow and deepen a relationship with God as we let the Holy Spirit do His work in and through our lives.

I went from being a participant to a facilitator in the second year.   It has been meaningful and encouraging for me to see fellow participants experience what God has for them through CIC.  I get another opportunity to reflect on the topics and bible passages and receive fresh insights for further growth.
