The Way Series Category 1 Leaders’ Training equips experienced Companions in Christ (CIC) leaders to guide small groups through three formational studies: Exploring the Way, The Way of Blessedness, and The Way of Grace.

Building on the spiritual formation and leadership foundations of CIC, this training prepares leaders to facilitate meaningful small-group journeys that help participants deepen their relationship with God, grow in Christian community, and connect faith with everyday life.

The training introduces leaders to the purpose, structure, and facilitation of each study:

• Exploring the Way – A 6-week introduction to Christian spiritual life, exploring essential practices such as Scripture, prayer, Christian community, spiritual gifts, listening, journaling, and serving others.
• The Way of Blessedness – A 9-week journey through the Beatitudes, helping participants explore Jesus’ teachings on blessedness and their meaning for Christian life and spiritual growth.
• The Way of Grace – A 9-week journey exploring the grace of God through eight encounters between Jesus and different people in the Gospel of John.

Through practical guidance, session outlines, spiritual practices, and formational-group leadership principles, participants will be better equipped to create a safe and supportive environment for sharing, reflection, prayer, and spiritual growth.

This training is designed for those who have completed Companions in Christ (CIC) Leaders’ Training and have led a 28-week CIC course, and who wish to continue facilitating formational small groups using The Way Series.
